Flock Pillows

Flock pillows are soft, sinking pillows that are perfect for lounging. Pillows with a side seam sink more than those with a center seam. It is important to regularly fluff the pillows to distribute the filling evenly throughout the pillow.

We offer Flock pillows with a side seam and Flock Pillows Flock pillows with a side seam have a pointed shape and are plump in thickness, which is more like a traditional sleeping pillow. Flock pillows with a center seam have a straighter shape (similar to that of a rectangular seat cushion) and have a sleeker appearance.

Flock Pillows

We recommend ordering flock pillows that are no larger than 120 cm. Pillows smaller than 90 cm often remain the most beautiful. Do you need flock pillows for a 240 cm couch? Then it is best to go for 3 pillows, to stay under 90 cm each.

Our flock pillows come standard filled with a mix of polyether flakes. It is possible to make custom flock pillows with a Quick Dry flake filling (water-permeable flake filling). Ideal if you always leave your pillows outside and they can become damp or wet.

In addition to the types of flock pillows with a center seam and flock pillows with a side seam, you also have the choice between a single cord or double cord finish.

Calculation examples of flock cushion dimensions

To give the dimensions of your custom flock cushions, we advise you to take the size slightly larger. If you don’t do this, your flock cushions will turn out smaller than desired.

You order 10% extra in width (on the desired width)
You order an extra 10 cm in height (on the desired height)
You let the cushion protrude 5 to 10 cm above the backrest

Calculation example of flock cushions with side seam

Suppose you have a bench that is 100 cm wide with a backrest of 45 cm high and you want to have flock cushions with side seams made for the backrest. Flock cushions remain the nicest if they are 90 cm or smaller, so we advise you to take 2 cushions of 50 cm in width each + 10% = 50 + 5 cm = 55 cm per cushion.

Take into account that the back cushions will come on top of the seat cushion for the height calculation. We assume a seat cushion with a height of 8 cm (a common dimension) for the calculation. The height of the backrest will then be 45 - 8 = 37 cm.

If you want the back cushion to be 7.5 cm above the backrest, the desired height will be 44.5 cm. So, you need a cushion of 55 x 44.5 cm. Add 10 cm to this, so you need 2 cushions of 55 x 54.5 cm.

Advice and example of a flock cushion with side seam

You order 10% extra in width (on the desired width)

You let the cushion protrude 5 to 10 cm above the backrest

If you want the back cushion to be 7.5 cm above the backrest, the desired height will be 44.5 cm. So, you need a cushion of 55 x 44.5 cm. Add 10 cm to this, so you need 2 cushions of 55 x 54.5 cm.

Advice for a flock cushion with intermediate piece

If you are going to place multiple flock cushions next to each other, order 3% extra in width. If it is only a chair with 1 flock cushion, add 3 cm extra.

Suppose you have a bench that is 100 cm wide with a backrest of 45 cm high and you want to have flock cushions with an intermediate piece made for your backrest. You can then choose 2 cushions of 50 cm in width each + 3% = 50 + 1.5 cm = 51.5 cm per cushion.

When considering the height of the cushion, you should take into account the seat cushion on the couch. We assume a cushion with a height of 8 cm. 45 - 8 = 37 cm. If you want the cushion to protrude 5 cm above the couch, then add an extra 7.5 to 10 cm. The height of your plof cushion with intermediate piece is 49.5 - 52 cm.

The dimensions for the cushions you want to order for the 100 x 45 cm bench are then 51.5 cm wide x 49.5 / 52 cm high.

It is also important to know that a plof cushion is not recommended if the seat depth is less than 55 cm. The seating depth would then be too small, causing you to be pushed off the chair.
